Silversea confirmed that both EVOLUTION-class boats (Nova and Ray) will operate polar cruises to ports and destinations in the Arctic (Europe, Russia, Canada) and Antarctica. The cruise ship has a 2-story Boutique (duty-free shop on two levels) located in the Atrium (midship on decks 4-5). Arts Cafe (capacity 70 seats/Deck 4 midship) is a casual Atrium bar lounge serving complimentary snacks and beverages.
Silver Nova Cabins All are Spacious, Come with Butlers
The openness to the sea of these public decks (and Silver Nova's cabin decks, too) is further enhanced by the bold placement of the ship's elevator banks in glass towers along the vessel's sides instead of at its center, as is customary. These elevator banks — one on the port side of the ship toward the front of the vessel; one on the starboard side of the ship toward the back — flood the ship's interior with even more natural light. Among other venues along these public decks is the Panorama Lounge, another central gathering spot at the back of Deck 5 lined with glass and offering views off the sides and back of the ship.
Design and construction
This ship is ideal for foodies as well as guests looking to connect more deeply with the sea and the people and places they visit. A cruise line long known for its understated approach to luxury, Silversea Cruises’ whisper-of-elegance approach is beautifully amplified on Silver Nova. Debuting in 2023, the ship is visually stunning, is environmentally friendlier than the rest of the fleet and ultimately finds a way to connect guests with the sea. Enjoy a selection of games at the Silversea Casino for guests 18 and older, or discover new games during your luxury cruise.
Silver Nova’s Innovative Design Enhances its Restaurants
With Silver Nova, it’s clear Silversea is seeing the impact of being owned by the Royal Caribbean Group, a brand that is able to offer additional resources and decades of experience to this one-time family-owned luxury brand. Liberty compared Silver Nova, the first ship in the Nova Class, to Oasis of the Seas, a Royal Caribbean ship that changed the course for the cruise line, and Celebrity Edge, which redefined and elevated Celebrity Cruises. Crew gratuities (for stateroom attendants, butlers, restaurant and bar personnel, etc.) are included in all Silversea cruise fares. Silversea's "hotel and cruise" package "Silver Shore Simply Hotel" offers overnight 5-star luxury hotel stays with the option of adding transfers or upgrades.

This local story continues in the S.A.L.T. Lab, where cooking classes focus on local dishes and the ingredients that make them special. In between are a whole host of beautifully appointed cabins that offer smart design and comfortable amenities. Silver Nova is the first ship in the Silversea fleet to offer aft-facing cabins, and we love that it’s not devoted just to the bigger suites – eight Premium Veranda Suites and one Classic Veranda Suite are available facing aft. New to the fleet is the Otium Suite, based on Silversea’s Otium spa concept, which emphasizes indulgence and wellness at every turn. These Silver Nova rooms are the largest on the ship, and both of them are located on the starboard aft corner (one on Deck 6, another on Deck 7), which means they have oversized balconies – again, thanks to the ship’s asymmetrical design.
Minibars are set up for you the way you like, and drinks and snacks are replenished often. You’ll find a welcome bottle of Champagne waiting for you in your cabin. I tried to be conservative with my estimates on food and excursions and didn’t include alcohol since that varies from person to person. However, if you want to do a nightly order of caviar and champagne on Silversea, you can at no extra cost. Once I passed the threshold of Silver Nova's $18,800, I stopped adding, but there are many included benefits, like seeing more than one destination without having to do connecting flights and packing up every few days, that could be added to the total.
(It’s next door to S.A.L.T. Bar, though, so you’re never too far away.) There is also access to the outdoor deck. The outdoor Dusk Bar, aft (the back of the ship) on Deck 10, is a new venue for Silversea. Its location means you can watch the wake as Silver Nova is traveling, one of my favorite views on a ship.
I just want to point to a destination and have someone else figure out every little detail for me. Before disembarking, I also peeked at one of Nova’s Master Suites, which are at the port aft corners. There is, notably, no deck above it, just a partially open slatted ceiling. It's just enough of a covering to keep the eatery shaded and cool during lunchtime, as I experienced firsthand while ordering a handmade pizza in the venue.
Floor-to-ceiling glass will form many of the structural but see-through “barriers” around the decks, which means unimpeded views. Suites start at more than 300 square feet, and balconies for those cabins are 53 square feet. This is about the size of a nice boutique hotel room in New York City and large by cruise ship standards.

A growing number of large mass-market ships, such as Carnival's new Excel-class ships and the soon-to-debut Sun Princess, have been debuting in recent years with large glass walls spanning multiple decks. Silver Nova isn't the first luxury cruise vessel to have a decktop eatery with at least some open-air seating at the edge of the vessel, of course. Many luxury ships have casual eateries at their backs that have terrace areas with outdoor seating. But The Marquee eatery feels different, in part because it's along the side of the ship and not at the back, and also because the entire eatery is outside and open to the breeze. To make this asymmetrical pool deck work, with its off-center pool and lack of walkway structure on one side, the ship's designers had to rethink other elements of the ship's top deck to make sure the vessel would be balanced. This included placing the ship's smokestack off center — another of Silver Nova's striking features.
Silver Nova staterooms (363 total) are all outside (each with a step-out balcony) and all are in Suite categories (13x total). Cabin types include Otium, Owner, Grand, Master, Signature, Silver, Junior Grand, Premium Medallion, Medallion, Premium Veranda, Deluxe Veranda, Superior Veranda, Classic Veranda. Highly coveted top-tier suites are already wait-listed on many of Silver Nova’s initial itineraries. Silversea’s flagship will kick off its inaugural season in the Mediterranean, cruising along the Dalmatian Coast, before alternating among the European cities of Rome, Barcelona and Lisbon, Portugal, for the rest of the fall. The new technology fits into Royal Caribbean Group’s broader Destination Net Zero campaign, which aims to achieve net zero emissions across its cruise brands, including Silversea, by 2050.
The mostly shaded but otherwise open-to-the-elements dining venue is a casual eatery during the daytime that combines the menus of Silversea's signature The Grill eatery and Spaccanapoli pizzeria. At night, it takes on an elevated feel and is home to Silversea's signature "hot rocks" dining concept, where passenger cook their own meats on heated rocks delivered to their tables. Atlantide doesn’t get the sexy coverage of other restaurants, but it’s my favorite eatery onboard. It’s gorgeous, colorful, offers the ultra-luxe menu you expect on a Silversea cruise (caviar, lobster) and careful, comfortable service.
Enjoy destination-inspired menus, including the Terrain menu, which offers recipes and flavours specific to the port visited, and the Voyage menu, which draws inspiration from the best flavours of the voyage. The unique design creates lots of little spaces in the sun and in the shade where guests can escape to for a quiet conversation or some shut eye under the sun. Drinks are included on Silver Nova, a ship that offers 70 different wines from 12 major wine-producing areas on its complimentary wine list.
Silver Nova was launched/floated out from drydock on April 28, 2023. The special event was attended by Barbara Muckermann (Silversea's President and CEO), Roberto Bruzzone (Silversea's SVP of Marine Operations) and Jan Meyer (Meyer Werft GmbH's Managing Director). During the launch ceremony, the ship's Master (Captain Cosimo Pontillo) welded a special coin to a wall on Pool Deck/deck 10 (remains visible) to commemorate the important milestone and adhere to shipbuilding traditions as a symbol of good luck. Silversea's EVOLUTION ships are also designed to have an EEDI (Energy Efficiency Design Index for new ships) IMO rating of approx 1/4 better than IMO's (International Maritime Organization's) current requirements for this GT-tonnage. The EEDI index estimates the CO2 volume (grams of carbon dioxide) per tonne-mile, making it kinda a sustainable ("environmental cost") ratio.
This open-air grill venue implements Silversea's interactive dining concept "Black Rock Grill Experience". In the evenings, it allows passengers to cook their food (fresh seafood and prime steaks) on heated volcanic-rock plates at their own table. During the day, Hot Rocks serves as a rotisserie and gourmet salad and burger bar. New Otium Suite – Largest Suite Aboard Silver NovaThe largest of Silver Nova’s suites is the 123m2 Otium Suite, located in the premium aft corner of the ship.
